Individual assessment: A speech and language therapist creates a personalised support plan tailored to the client’s communication goals.
Home visits: A fully trained volunteer visits the client at-home to provide one-to-one support every two weeks for a period of six months.
iPad therapy: Clients access the charity's iPad loan scheme to use bespoke therapy apps, practicing between sessions.
Celebrate achievements: Milestones and progress are recognised to motivate and boost confidence.
Ongoing review: Progress is regularly reviewed by a speech and language therapist to ensure communication goals are met, next steps are clear, and future support is planned.
*Please note: This support is currently restricted to client's living in West Yorkshire, Harrogate or Barnsley.
How to make a referral

Audio Visual Resources
Press play to hear from Ike, who experienced a devastating stroke aged 34. Ike describes the emotional journey from being a carer, to needing care.
Following a referral to Aphasia Support, Steve began visiting Ike at his home, using iPad therapy to support Ike's communication goals.
"When I have stroke, I can't speak. I can't conversate. Steve [from Aphasia Support] was very lively. Very lovely. I was doing the iPads. Now, I can speak, I can write. I'm grateful. I'm happy." - Ike
